Baroque Art – An Introduction

The Baroque is an artistic style of architecture, design, music, dancing, painting, and other creative arts which flourished in Europe

The Baroque is an artistic style of architecture, design, music, dancing, painting, and other creative arts which flourished in Europe in the late Renaissance until the mid-17th century. The term “Baroque” first appeared in the works of Michelangelo in 1493. The term “Baroque” comes from basque and carri, which means city or town in Italian. The Baroque style became hugely popular during the Spanish Civil War when it was used as a way to create elaborate buildings and street ways with a uniform look. It was combined with other styles such as the French roman, the French baroque, and the Italian Baroque. Today the Baroque style is still used in modern design.

Many famous baroque art pieces have survived to this day. Many of these pieces have enjoyed great fame throughout the history of European art. Some examples of famous baroque art include the ceiling frescoes of the Spanish region of Galicia, the ceiling paintings of the courts of Renaissance Spain, and the baroque statues that graced Renaissance Italy’s courts. In Spain, the most famous example of baroque art would be the Alhambra palace.

Spanish Baroque Art – Its Background and Early Beginnings

  • The ceiling frescoes of the Palaces of the Roman Empire.
  • The ceiling of the 16th-century Dutch church Sejongbronden.
  • The ceiling painting of Genghis Khan.

One of the most famous baroque art pieces is the painting called The Virgin of Louvain by Joanna M. Czernecka. This famous baroque art painting depicts the Virgin Mary surrounded by angels. It was produced in the year 1588 when the artist was working as an apprentice under the famous artist Andrea del Sarto. The style of this painting is reminiscent of earlier works by Cesar Vallejo and includes depictions of Mary’s tenderness for her little children. This painting can be seen at most major museums.

Another famous example of famous baroque art depicts the Virgin Mary in the painting entitled Saint Sebastian. The artist was born in Italy but is best known to people in their home country of Germany. The title of this famous baroque art painting refers to the Virgin’s mission to raise her son on the Mount of Olives. That is the location from where St. Sebastian would go to preach the gospel of God to the world. It is also said that the young child was carried on a raft to the place where the papacy was based in Rome.

Many people are unaware of the fact that the renaissance period witnessed the introduction of several new artistic styles. One such style which emerged in the years immediately following the death of the great baroque artist Michelangelo was called baroque. It should be noted that this form of art did not last very long. It was brought about by the baroque artists copying the work of others during this time.
